At Forces Against Child Endangerment (F.A.C.E.), we believe that books can change lives. F.A.C.E. provides culturally diverse books to preschool and after-school programs serving at-risk youth, helping children see themselves reflected in the stories they read while exposing them to new ideas, cultures, and possibilities.
Reading is more than learning words on a page — it is a foundation for confidence, emotional growth, and lifelong success. Through literacy initiatives, children are encouraged to strengthen their reading skills, build self-esteem, develop critical thinking abilities, and increase emotional intelligence.
Stories with relatable characters help youth better understand emotions, overcome adversity, and develop resilience during difficult times. Books also support emotional literacy by helping children identify, process, and express their feelings in healthy and positive ways.
At Forces Against Child Endangerment (F.A.C.E.), we are committed to supporting the emotional wellness and mental health of at-risk youth through compassionate counseling services and emotional support programs.
This month, F.A.C.E. provided services to 43 at-risk youth by delivering more than 25 hours of counseling support focused on emotional intelligence, self-esteem, trauma awareness, and emotional vulnerabilities. Our programs are designed to help youth navigate life’s challenges while developing the tools needed for long-term emotional well-being.
Counseling empowers youth by encouraging emotional maturity, critical thinking, confidence, and healthy decision-making skills. Through guidance, mentorship, and supportive conversations, young people are given the opportunity to better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, and build positive coping strategies.

To protect and empower children and youth by strengthening their personal development, providing supportive resources, and guiding them toward safe, healthy, and sustainable futures. .

To create lasting change by breaking cycles of child endangerment and building stronger, safer communities where every child has the opportunity to grow, succeed, and thrive.

F.A.C.E. is dedicated to promoting the social and emotional well-being of children and families. We aim to educate and prevent child abuse and neglect through community awareness and support initiatives.

More than 3 million child abuse reports are made in the United States each year, involving over 6 million children — showing how critical early awareness and prevention education are.

About 9 out of 10 children who experience abuse or neglect are harmed by someone they know and trust, not a stranger — which is why caregiver and community education is essential.

Research shows that prevention education and early intervention programs significantly reduce repeat maltreatment and long-term harm, making awareness and training one of the most effective protection tools available.
